Official source · Faculty of Arts & ScienceThis course introduces students to various topics in mathematical probability theory. Topics include basic concepts (such as probability, random variables, expectations, conditional probability) from a mathematical point of view, examples of distributions and stochastic processes and their properties, convergence results (such as the law of large numbers, central limit theorem, random series, etc.), various inequalities, and examples of applications of probabilistic ideas beyond statistics (for example, in geometry and computer science).

How well we know this course
2020–2023Pyko’s archive holds 5 documents for MAT377H1, across 4 years between 2020 and 2023.

- Midterms
Both a midterm and a final appear in what we hold, so this course has historically been assessed on both rather than on a single end-of-term paper.
Counts, not a library. Pyko does not host or distribute course files, and this page is not an offer to supply one — the archive is what lets these pages describe how a course is assessed, which matters most where no syllabus has been verified.

What this opens up
4 courses list MAT377H1 as a prerequisiteThe other 2 have no page yet. Listing a course here means it names MAT377H1 among its prerequisites — often as one of several ways to satisfy the same requirement, so this is what MAT377H1 makes available, not what it alone guarantees.
