What was the average?

C

2 GPA across 2 observed terms. Most recent: Fall 2022 - Winter 2023.

How is it graded?

40% final

From the 2024 syllabus. 4 graded components.

How confident is this?

Med

A small number of terms, so read it as a range. The most recent observation is several years old.

A conceptual approach to calculus. A focus on theoretical foundations and proofs as well as some emphasis on geometric and physical intuition. Limits and continuity, differentiation, the mean value, extreme value and inverse function theorems. Applications typically include related rates and optimization.

This is a student-contributed aggregate, not an official University of Toronto record. It is also not a measure of how hard the course is — a course average moves with who enrols in it, not only with the material.

The newest observation is from Fall 2022 - Winter 2023. Instructors, weighting and exam format may all have changed since — treat this as history, not a forecast.

This rests on 2 reported terms. It is shown because hiding it would not make it less true, but one or two results are a datapoint, not a distribution — a single unusual cohort moves this number a long way.

Final Exam · 40%Best four out of five homework assignments · 20%Term Test 1 · 20%Term Test 2 · 20%

40% of the grade is decided in the final alone. Steady coursework cannot carry this course on its own.

Extracted from a published 2024 syllabus by deterministic parser. Components that could not be labelled are shown unresolved rather than folded into a neighbouring category.

What we don’t have yet

A current averageThe newest verified observation is from Fall 2022 - Winter 2023. Later terms have no confirmed result yet.
Per-term breakdownHeld back deliberately. Splitting 2 observations across terms would be false precision.
Instructor-level detailAverages are not split by instructor. At these sample sizes the difference between sections is noise, not signal.
Archive coveragePyko holds no past paper for this course. We do not host or distribute course files in any case; the archive is what lets these pages describe how a course is assessed.

What this opens up

36 courses list MAT137H5 as a prerequisite

The other 13 have no page yet. Listing a course here means it names MAT137H5 among its prerequisites — often as one of several ways to satisfy the same requirement, so this is what MAT137H5 makes available, not what it alone guarantees.
