From the calendar
Official source · Faculty of Arts & ScienceAn introduction to probability using simulation and mathematical frameworks, with emphasis on the probability needed for computer science applications and more advanced study in statistical practice. Topics covered include probability spaces, random variables, discrete and continuous probability distributions, probability mass, density, and distribution functions, expectation and variance, independence, conditional probability, the law of large numbers, the central limit theorem, sampling distributions. Computer simulation will be taught and used extensively for calculations and to guide the theoretical development.

What people actually got
Last observed Fall 20222 terms observed
This is a student-contributed aggregate, not an official University of Toronto record. It is also not a measure of how hard the course is — a course average moves with who enrols in it, not only with the material.
The newest observation is from Fall 2022. Instructors, weighting and exam format may all have changed since — treat this as history, not a forecast.
This rests on 2 reported terms. It is shown because hiding it would not make it less true, but one or two results are a datapoint, not a distribution — a single unusual cohort moves this number a long way.

What this opens up
73 courses list STA247H1 as a prerequisiteShowing 24 of the 47 that have a page here. The other 26 have no page yet. Listing a course here means it names STA247H1 among its prerequisites — often as one of several ways to satisfy the same requirement, so this is what STA247H1 makes available, not what it alone guarantees.
